Part of the Group for Specialized Tactics, a Special Mission Unit under the direct command of the Joint Special Operations Command, the elite of the modern US Special Forces is better known by their battlefield legend. They are the untraceable soldiers called the Ghosts.

Only the best of the best, soldiers with a unique mix of skills on and off the battlefield, ever get to wear the coveted Ghost insignia. Equipped with the most advanced combat technology, the Ghosts track down the highest-value targets in the highest-risk conflict areas around the world, fighting from the shadows in any climate or terrain.

Ghost Recon Future Soldier will be running live throughout the day at the GameStation Area.

10 DAYS TO GO!!!

Since my last update a few things have changed, Unfortunately due to a lack of interest the Your Shape Challenge has been dropped from the line-up, on the plus side this has meant that we have been able to increase our capacity for Call of Duty: Black Ops and Forza 4 and this has meant that they will be even better.

So to recap here are the vital statistics for the LAN:

Forza 4:

• With Forza 4 we had an easy choice the game is great the graphics are stunning and for us as an Admin team the game is great to work with when setting up the races.

Call of Duty: Black Ops:

• So this for us again was an easy choice not due to the game play of Modern Warfare 3 but due to the fact that Modern Warfare 3 has no System Link ability’s making it as useful as a chocolate tea pot to the LAN community. As you can imagine this forced our hand over to Battlefield 3 but that also has no System Link ability’s leaving us stepping back to Black Ops.

THAT’S RIGHT PEOPLE!!! EA (Electronic Arts) ARE COMING TO PLATFORM 2012!!! Check out what they’re bringing with them

That’s right gamers, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment are bringing 4 of these gaming stands for you all (18+) to battle it out on Mortal Kombat and take over the city with Batman: Arkham City.

The live art wall will be back for Platform 2012 due to popular demand, only this time it’s going to be bigger and better.

Featuring one big collaborative painting (over 17ft in length!) on day one and smaller individual paintings on day two, there’s going to be plenty for all to look at. The live painting roster will be online soon, detailing the artists that will be sharing their talent with the public.

Firstly, please give a warm welcome to our amazing special guests (more on them next time!):
Sonia Leong – UK based award-winning Manga-ka and illustrator armed with markers, flipcharts, beautiful manga-style prints, and a whole lot of energy.
Akemi Solloway Tanaka – Providing intriguing lectures on Japanese language and culture using anime and old traditions as her weapons of choice.
Lawrence Simpson (codename: MasakoX) – TeamFourStar’s legendary UK based member will be training new recruits in the art of Voice Acting online and then ecessary equipment. Plus, he’s my backup singer

Cosplay Zone:

It's rumoured that Cosplay Portrait even took their portable studio to Pandora...

I’m thrilled to announce that Cosplay Portrait are bringing their studio and on-site printing equipment for you all to get your snaps and souvenir photos! (Like at a theme park, only much less embarassing!) Here’s a sneaky peek at the impressive gear they’ll be bringing:

Masquerade!
With music from LastKnight, and an audience with cameras and shiny eyes, the cosplay masquerade at Platform 2012 is sure to be a highlight! MasakoX will be with me hosting the event often hailed as a convention essential. Sign-ups will be online soon, so keep your eyes peeled for your chance to get involved and take to the stage!
